Turnitin backups should be made once the assignment has been marked and completed.

Step 1 - Select your Turnitin dropbox

Sign in to the Keele Learning Environment (KLE) and navigate to the module containing your Turnitin dropbox.

From the menu on the left, navigate to the Course Management section.

From the Course Management section select Course Tools.

Select Turnitin Assignments.

Choose the appropriate dropbox link from the list.

Step 2 - Preparing your download

From within the Turnitin inbox, click the checkbox next to Author to select all of the submissions.

Click the download button on the right hand side.

Select either Original File or Grademark Paper.

Some schools may wish to download both the original and GradeMark papers - please refer to existing School practice.

Once ready, the Messages tab will display a 1 New alert.

Step 3 - Downloading your submissions

Click on the Messages tab.

You will see a list of pending downloads, with the most recent listed as New!.

Click on the message you wish to download the archived dropbox for.

You will be taken to a confirmation screen. Click on the link to download the file.

A zip file containing the Turnitin documents will start to download.

This file will be available for 7 days at which point it will be removed.

Step 4 - Storing your Turnitin backups

Once you have downloaded the zipped file containing the submissions, you will need to store them safely.

Move the .zip file(s) to a secure University network drive, ideally a shared office drive.

Once you have copied your file to a shared drive, it will be automatically backed up by University IT Services.

Alright! You have successfully backed up your Turnitin assignment dropbox.
